(Sioux Center, Iowa) After a great 3 game week on the road, Dordt got back to their home barn with an ACHA match-up against Creighton and beat the Jays 10-3 to improve to a 10-3 overall and 7-1 in conference play.

Creighton tallied first at the 16:29 mark in the first period on a Joe Llewellyn goal. Dordt answered back at the 15:10 mark when Joel Sikkema scored with assists from Havinga and Chesla. Dordt would extend their lead with 6:44 remaining when Nate Woudstra scored his 21st goal of the season from Heerema and Chesla. Creighton would tie the game with 1:12 left in the sesseion when the combo of Llewellyn and Fogarty struck again with an additional helper to Nick Flolid. Dordt regained the lead just 12 seconds later as Jake Esselink scored a dandy back hander on an assist from Nate Woudstra.

It would be almost all Dordt Blades from here on out as Dordt outscored the Jays 3-1 in the second period and 4-0 in the third. Kevin Prins would start the scoring at 16:39 in the second with an assist from Bakker. Chesla tallied at 9:21 from Prins and Rempel, then Creighton got their final goal of the night at 3:37 as Staiger scored from Fogarty and Revolinski. Esselink would finish off the scoring for the period as he did some fancy skating going coast to coast and scoring unassisted at 1:29.

In the third it would be Breukelman with two tallies at 19:14 and 0:06 and Bakker with two just 7 seconds apart at 5:07 and 5:00, his 14th and 15th goals of the season.

The third period was marred with 12 total penalties being called and two Dordt Blades, Kevin Prins (fighting) and Jared Rempel (boarding), receiving game misconducts. In spite of a lot of time on the penalty kill Dordt did not give up a goal in the third session.

After the match, Coach van Niejenhuis commented: "I am pleased with the win, it's a nice result but we showed some selfishness and a lack of discipline in the third period. Certainly, it's a two-way street with the penalties and the retaliation but we need to avoid getting involved in that."

Dordt netminder Ted Gibbons had 24 saves on 27 shots while Dordt posted 64 shots on the two Creighton netminders.

Dordt will face Creighton again tomorrow night(November 15) with that contest being held in Omaha, Nebraska at 5:30 pm.
