Dordt College Men's Golf at Briar Cliff Invite

(Sioux City, Iowa) The Dordt College Defender golf team placed seventh in the Briar Cliff Invite Wednesday afternoon in Sioux City, Iowa. The Defenders shot a 314 for the day--12 shots off the pace set by Northwestern and Briar Cliff for the team title.

Jordan Janz carded a 72 (35-37) for third place and Kevin Fopma made it around the course with a 78. Blake Lubben and Tyler Lyon each shot 82's and Ben Christians carded an 84 to round out Dordt's varsity scoring.

Briar Cliff's Bill Keane and Northwestern's Luke Vermeer both carded 70's with Keane winning the tie-breaker.

Green Valley was set up for par-72 and measured 7061.

Dordt will send a team to the Iowa Lakes Invite on Friday, September 25 at Brooks Golf Course near Okoboji.
