Dordt College Men's Golf at Cougar Invite

(Sioux Falls, South Dakota) The Dordt College men's golf team finished fifth in the University of Sioux Falls Cougars Fall Invite at Prairie Green Golf Course in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Thursday, September 11. The Defenders finished seven shots out of third place and Dakota Wesleyan ran away with the team title with a 289.

Jared Rempel (senior; Chilliwack, British Columbia) recorded a Dordt best 74 and finished eighth overall. Collin Broekhuis (senior; Edgerton, Minnesota) and Jordan Janz (sophomore; Denver, Colorado) each had 77's and Brad Evenson (senior; Buhler, Kansas) and Ryan Kamp (freshman; Tinley Park, Illinois) had a pair of 79's.

Wesleyan's Brett Abbots and Matt Bertsch from Sioux Falls shared medalist honors after shooting 69 on the par 72, 6667 yard course.

The Defenders will take part in GPAC qualifier #2 on Thursday, September 18 in their next outing. The meet is hosted by Doane and will be held in Lincoln, Nebraska.
