Dordt College Men's Golf at Central College Dutch Classic (Final Results Two Day Event)

The Dordt College Defender men's golf team cut ten strokes off their first day total at the Central Dutch Golf Classic hosted at the Edmundson Golf Course in Oskaloosa, Iowa on Saturday, March 29 and came home with a third place finish in the 36 hole event. The third place finish came by virtue of Iowa Wesleyan's number five golfer posting a lower score than Dordt's number five to break their tie at 590.
Dordt shot a 290 on day two for a two day total of 590, putting them in a tie for second with Iowa Wesleyan. The host, Central (Iowa), claimed the title with a 560. Sixteen teams and a total of 86 golfers competed in the annual event.
Dordt's Jared Rempel shot a 141 (71-70) to place third overall and Collin Broekhuis had a 144 (72-72) for sixth. Jordan Janz also broke 80 on both days with a 150 (77-73) while Matt Zwart and Jason Kroese were at 155 (80-75) and 161 (80-81) respectively. The team total of 290 is a Dordt College single day record and the 590 is a two-day meet record for the Defenders.
Dordt's next outing is Thursday, April 10 at the Briar Cliff Spring Invite in Sioux City, Iowa.
