Dordt College Men's Golf at NAIA Region III Meet--Final Results

(Sioux Falls, South Dakota (Elmwood Golf Course)) The Dordt College Defender golf team's season came to a close with a third place finish at the NAIA Region III golf meet hosted at Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
The Defenders scored a 319 on day two after shooting an opening day score of 311 on Monday. The 630 for Dordt was good for third place in the seven team tournament, nipping Sioux Falls and Hastings with 631 and 632 respectively. Sioux Falls was the day one leader with a 305. Midland Lutheran improved by two strokes with a 308 on day two for a 618 which won the tournament and advanced the Warriors to the NAIA national meet. Dakota Wesleyan came up one stroke shy with a 619.
Dordt was led by Jared Rempel with a 150. The junior from Chilliwack, British Columbia had a 73 and 77 for third place overall. Jason Kroese shot a 157 for 15th and Matt Zwart's two day total was 162 for 27th. Luke Vermeer (Northwestern) advances to the NAIA national meet after taking medalist honors with a 148.
This was the third year in a row that Dordt College has qualified for the NAIA regional meet.
