Dordt College Men's Golf at Dordt College Invitational

(Le Mars, Iowa) The Dordt College Defender golf team hosted their annual invitational at the Le Mars Willow Creek Golf Course on Tuesday, October 9.

The meet was played under sunny skies with a 10-20 mph wind with temperatures in the 60's.

Sioux Falls won the team title with a score of 309 with three of their players breaking 80 and the fourth shooting an 80. Hastings College was second with a 312 and Dordt shot a 315 for fourth place. The Defenders were led by Jared Rempel's even par score of 72 over the 6700-plus yard course. Rempel tied with Buena Vista's Tim Murphy and Kyle Janky of Hastings for first place with Murphy and Janky taking medalist and runner-up medalist honors by virture of a tiebreaker system based on hole handicaps. Collin Broekhuis, Brad Evenson and Jordan Janz all shot 81's in Dordt's final meet of the Fall.

Dordt will resume their golf schedule in March 2008.
