Dordt College Men's Golf at NAIA Region III Meet--Final Day

(Oxbow, North Dakota) The Dordt College Defender men's golf season came to a close with a sixth place finish at the NAIA Region III golf meet hosted at Oxbow, North Dakota on Monday and Tuesday, April 30 and May 1.

The Defenders shot a second day score of 322 on the way to a two day total of 639. Midland Lutheran won the event with a 609. Hastings put a scare into Midland Lutheran by shooting a second day score of 302 and finished three strokes off the pace.

Dordt's Jared Rempel shot a 154 for the tournament while Ryan Trosper shot a 160. Jason Kroese and Collin Broekhuis were at 162 and 163 and Matt Zwart carded a 173 over the 36 hole event.

Midland Lutheran advances to the NAIA National Championships as does Justin Hamilton from Morningside with medalist honors at 148. Hamilton won a three hole playoff to best Nathan Schunke of Sioux Falls and teammate Chris Rager.
