(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College defense gave up yards but not points on Saturday afternoon in Sioux Center and the Defenders scored a 24-7 win on Parent's Weekend 2012, getting their first win of the 2012 season.

With the score still 10-7 midway through the third quarter, the Defenders took a shot downfield and David Griess was able to run under a Kyle Henricks pass for a 54 yard touchdown, the only pass Dordt completed all day.

Dakota State threatened early in the fourth quarter but this time it was Anthony Hallum taking a pas away at the three yard line, squelching a Trojan scoring attempt. Dordt took the ball all the way to the Dakota State two before turning the ball over on downs but the Trojans missed a field goal from 43 yards out with 3:07 remaining and Trai Pickney went 71 yards on the third play of the drive to make the final 24-7.
