Dordt College Football vs. Waldorf

(Forest City, Iowa) On November 19, 2012, it was determined Waldorf had used an ineligible player in the game and Dordt was awarded a 1-0 win by forfeit. The following game story is what was originally posted in September.
The Dordt College Defender football team went on the road to Forest City, Iowa on Saturday night in its season opener and came home with a 43-7 loss to the Waldorf Warriors.
Offensive chances were at a premium in the first half with Waldorf cashing in twice. Sammuel Fisk ran it in from 11 yards out late in the first quarter to cap an eight play drive and the Warriors found paydirt again late in the second quarter when Adam Isaacson caught an 11 yard pass from Fisk for a 14-0 lead. Dordt did make a defensive stop in the first quarter when Ray Cleveland picked off a Fisk pass at the goalline and Josh Nollmeyer picked off an aerial in the second quarter near midfield.
Dordt attempted an onside kick to start the second half and Waldorf pounced on it. Seven plays and 61 yards later the Warriors had a 21-0 lead on a 24 yard pass.
Dordt mounted its scoring drive on the ensuing possession with Bryce Rusler racing in from five yards out at the 6:25 mark of the third period.
Up 21-0 the Warriors scored on a seven play, 65 yard drive for a 28-7 lead and then picked off a Rusler pass on the next drive and returned it for a touchdown.
Waldorf tacked on a field goal and a late touchdown to make it a 43-7 final.
Dordt was outgained 534-279 and gave up 331 yards on the ground while gaining 226.
Courtney Samuel had 92 yards rushing on 17 carries and Rusler had 18 carries for 78 yards. Rusler was 7-22 in the air for 47 yards with David Griess catching three balls for 22 yards.
Chris McDaniel had six solo and two assisted tackles while Seth Vande Voort had four solo and three assisted stops with 2.5 tackles for loss.
