(Sioux Falls, South Dakota (Yankton Trails Park; I-229 to exit 3 Minnesota Ave. or corner of I-229 and Minnesota)) Running in the dark on Friday night, the Dordt College Defender women's cross country team had a strong showing at an invite hosted by Augustana in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. No team points were kept at the event.
Dordt was led by Lauren Opp with a seventh place time of 17:28 and Merissa Harkema was right with her in eighth place, less than a second behind.
Renee Buikema was 14th in 18:01 and Katie Bonnema recorded an 18:06 for 18th and Lillie Koerner was 19th in 18:08.
114 runners competed in the event with Runa Fulch from Augustana winning the three mile race in 16:26.
Dordt will run in the Woody Greeno Invite on Saturday, September 15 in Lincoln, Nebraska.
