NAIA Region IV Meet at Lincoln, NE.
Coach Goheen says, "Katie Van Arendonk's time qualifies her for nomination as an All America Scholar Athlete. This completes an unprecedented sweep for all of Dordt's top five runners to achieve this nomination. Even when the Dordt women won the NAIA trophy for having the best GPA in the nation, all five couldn't qualify for this honor because they were not all Juniors and Seniors--a prerequisite for this nomination."
Goheen continues, "Most of the women ran their best time of the year and several posted personal bests for their whole collegiate careers, notably seniors Kate Reinsma, Rachelle Kroll and Van Arendonk and juniors Tanya Holtrop and Leah Kooiker."
Regarding the men Goheen states, "Senior Andrew Hoeksema qualifed for All America Scholar Athlete nomination as he too ran a personal best for his four year career at Dordt. Most of the men ran their best race of the year and career personal records were posted by sophomores Tim Eisenga and Mark Miedema and by freshmen Mike Tinklenberg and Ryan Swanson."
Goheen concludes, "The top performance of all was turned in by Jeff Taylor. He ran the best time on a full length men's course by any Dordt man since 1999."
