Dordt College Women's Basketball vs. Concordia-GPAC Quarterfinals

(Seward, Nebraska) The Dordt College Defender women's basketball season came to an end in the quarterfinal round of the Great Plains Athletic Conference post-season tournament with a 75-63 loss in Seward, Nebraska to Concordia. The loss ends the Dordt year with a 16-15 record for the Defenders.
The Defenders started slowly, getting down 11-2 at the 13:28 mark of the game. The Defenders were able to trim the advantage to 19-12 after Elise Maresh hit two free throws with 9:17 left in the first half.
The hosts answered the run with a run of their own to go up 38-23 with 2:03 remaining. Dordt closed the half on a 5-0 run with Danelle Boone capping the scoring with one of her four three-point shots of the game.
Concordia controlled the first ten minutes of the second half, pushing the difference to 60-37 and Dordt was able to get no closer than 11 the rest of the game before falling 75-63.
Dordt was led by Brianna Spronk's 18 points. The senior was 8-14 from the floor and had four rebounds iwth two assists and two steals. Danelle Boone added 12 points on 4-7 three-point shooting. Jaimie Kok concluded teh double digit scoring with 10 points.
Dordt had a 42-36 rebounding advantage led by Kara Van Dyke's 10 caroms and Kayla Broekhuis had seven.
Concordia was led by Jericca Pearson's 18 points and Kristen Conahan had 16 points.
Dordt made 22-53 field goals and was 14-18 from the free throw line. Concordia was 27-69 from the field and forced 31 Dordt turnovers.
Concordia will host Northwestern on Saturday in the GPAC Semifinals and take a 25-5 record into that game.
