Dordt College JV Women's Basketball vs. Northwestern

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Northwestern Red Raiders set the tone early in an 83-41 victory over the Dordt Defenders JV on Thursday night.

Northwestern, perennial powerful as a women’s program, jumped out to a 10-0 lead and never looked back. Ten different players scored for the Raiders in the first half as they held a 46-18 halftime lead and only extended it in the second frame. Sophomore Jacie White led the balanced attack with 19 points. Katy Kuiper and Dana Weerheim also contributed 11.

Dordt couldn’t find flow against Northwestern’s mixed bag of zone defenses. They turned the ball over early and often, leading to the Raiders’ potent transition offense. The Defenders didn’t finish with a scorer in double-figures, maxing out at nine points from Caroline Reinders.

Dordt falls to 1-6 (0-5) and will look to rebound on December 15th against Briar Cliff.

Northwestern now goes on Christmas break with a 7-3 (5-1) mark. They’ve won three straight games.
