Dordt College Women's Basketball vs. Roberts Wesleyan

The Dordt College Defender women's basketball team lost a 70-54 decision to Roberts Wesleyan (New York) on Saturday afternoon in the championship of the Moody Bible Institute tournament in Chicago, Illinois.

The Defenders trailed 41-32 at halftime and cut the lead to five early in the half before falling by the final margin of 16.

Dordt made 19-52 field goals for 37 percent while Roberts Wesleyan was 28-64 for 44 percent. Dordt was outrebounded 33-27 and committed 12 turnovers to 10 turnovers for the RedHawks.

Dordt was led by Elise Maresh with 16 points and Kara Van Dyke had 13 points with five rebounds. Ashley Smith led four players in double figures for Wesleyan with 13 points.

Dordt slips to 1-4 to start the season while Roberts Wesleyan is 2-0. Dordt will host AIB on Wednesday, November 14 at 6:00.
