Dordt College Women's Basketball vs. Valley City State

(Valley City, North Dakota) The Dordt College Defender women's basketball team lost their second game in as many tries in North Dakota, falling this afternoon 64-53 to Valley City State. Dordt held a small 34-33 edge in rebounding but could not overcome an afternoon where they shot 34.6% from the floor while the Vikings shot 43.1%.
Kayla Adamson came off the bench to lead the Defenders in scoring with 15 points, including 3 of 6 from three point range. Brianna Spronk was the only other Dordt player in double figures as she added 11 points on 5 of 9 from the field. Kara Van Dyke had a game high 10 rebounds for the Defenders and Dordt had 5 different players dish out two assists.
Kristin Bearstail had team high honors in points for the Vikings with 14 while also dishing out a game high 5 assists. Brittany Lehner added 12 points with Alyssa Hummel contributing 10.
The two teams combined for 51 turnovers on the afternoon with Dordt losing the ball 26 times and the Vikings 25.
The Defender women will play their first home game of the season when they play host to the York Panthers at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, November 8.
