Dordt College Women's Basketball vs. Jamestown (ND)

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Defender women's basketball team lost a 68-43 decision at the hands of the Jamestown Jimmies in non-conference women's college basketball on Saturday afternoon in Sioux Center, Iowa. The Defenders trailed 31-21 at halftime and were unable to significantly dent the Jamestown lead in the second half.
The Defender women were limited to 15-58 shooting from the floor for 25.9 percent with 8-19 shooting from the free throw line. Dordt did manage a 49-47 rebounding edge but turned the ball over 21 times to nine for the Jimmies.
Dordt was led in scoring by Lesley Eldridge and Amber Soodsma each had nine points and Bailey Spencer had eight points. Jamestown was led by Katie O'Neill with 23 points and Mara Paulson had 12.
McKinzie Schmidt had 12 rebounds in the loss while Soodsma grabed eight. Paulson led Jamestown with eight rebounds.
Dordt was able to force just two turnovers by steals while Jamestown countered with ten steals.
Dordt is 1-3 for the season and Jamestown is 4-2. Dordt will next face Grand View on Wednesday, November 12 at 5:30 in Des Moines and will be on the road against Dakota State in Madison, South Dakota next Saturday, November 15 for a 7:00 game.
