Dordt College Women's Basketball vs. Evergreen State

(Olympia, Washington) The Dordt College women's basketball team won a 62-56 non-conference decision on the road at Olympia, Washington against Evergreen State for their third win of the season.

The Defender women overcame a 30-27 halftime deficit to score the win and trailed by as many as seven in the first half. Dordt outscored the GeoDucks 35-26 in the second half for their second win in a row.

Kate DuMez had 22 points, seven rebounds, four assists and five steals in the win for the Defenders. Amber Soodsma had 11 points and four rebounds while Kara Karlsgodt had a team high eight rebounds--sharing the honor with McKinzie Schmidt. Karlsgodt also scored ten points and Kelsie De Nooy put in seven points off the bench.

Evergreen State was led by Rosalind Lee's 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Dordt was 27-66 from the floor and 8-16 on free throws while Evergreen State was 23-59. The GeoDucks won the rebounding battle 38-34.

Dordt faces Northwest in Kirkland, Washington on Saturday, December 29 at 5:00 (Central Time).
