Dordt College Women's Basketball vs. Jamestown

(Jamestown, North Dakota) The Dordt College Defender women's basketball team lost a 67-50, non-conference contest on Friday night, November 2 in Jamestown, North Dakota to Jamestown College.
The Defenders fell behind early and trailed 28-11 at halftime. The Defenders recovered in the second half to cut the lead to 44-34 at the 10:00 mark but could get no closer as Jamestown outscored Dordt 11-1 to increase the lead to 55-35. Dordt got back to within 61-50 but got no closer as the Defenders lost 67-50.
Dordt was led in scoring by Amber Soodsma's 13 points on 5-9 shooting from the floor. McKinzie Schmidt added eight and Bre Schneidermann had six off the bench. Dordt was led in rebounding by Kara Karlsgodt's nine and Amber Soodsma had eight. Erin Savery had five steals in the loss.
Jamestown's Guili Varriano had 29 points and Cori Doubek scored 18 and had 15 rebounds.
Dordt was 15-49 from the floor and 2-15 on three pointers while Jamestown was 25-65 overall and 2-19 from the three point line. Dordt outrebounded Jamestown 37-34 but commmitted 33 turnovers.
Dordt is 0-1 while Jamestown is 2-1. Dordt faces Valley City State on Saturday, November 3 at 4:00 while Jamestown hosts Northwestern on Saturday afternoon.
