Dordt College Women's Basketball vs. North Central

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Lady Defenders led start to finish in a 91-50 win over the North Central (MN) Rams. The Defenders ran out to a 16-4 lead with 14:21 left in the first half on an Amanda Henke three-point shot and continued to roll as they blew the lead up to 34-11, using an 11-0 run over a four minute span, ending the run on a Kelsie De Nooy basket with 5:10. The Defenders went into the half up 43-16.
After a slow start the Defenders got rolling, spreading the scoring around with all ten players in uniform scoring at least two points. The Defenders led by as many as 44 points with Keelie Solomon hitting a halfcourt shot at the buzzer to make the final 91-50.
Dordt was paced by Amanda Henke's 20 points on 7-10 shooting from the floor and 5-5 three-point shooting. Lindsey Van Wyk added 18 and Kelsie De Nooy came off the bench to score 17 on 7-9 shooting and 3-4 free throws. Kara Karlsgodt chipped in with 11 and Amy Prather, McKinzie Schmidt and Erin Savery all had six points. Dordt made 36-83 shots for 43.4 percent and were 10-14 from the free throw line. North Central got 13 points from Keelie Solomon and 11 by Stephanie Koopman. North Central made 17-59 shots from the floor for 28.8 percent.
The Defenders had three players grab double digit rebounds as they took 63 off the glass led by Schmidt's 13 and Van Wyk's 11. Erin Savery ended with 10 points and Van Wyk had a team high four steals. Karslgodt got five steals and De Nooy had three takeaways.
Dordt is now 10-16 overall and stand 7-9 in the conference with two games next week to conclude the regular season. North Central, a Minneapolis, Minnesota based school, is now 12-11.
