Dordt College Women's Basketball vs. Concordia

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Lady Defenders won their tenth game of the season and lifted their Great Plains Athletic Conference record to 5-4 in the process with a 74-61 win over the Concordia Lady Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon at the De Witt Gym.
Concordia led early, taking a 15-9 lead before the Lady Defenders tied it at 17. The visitors took a 24-20 lead only to see the Lady Defenders tie it at 24 and again at 26. The Bulldogs eventually took a slim 29-28 lead into half.
Dordt trailed 31-28 after the Bulldogs scored the first basket of the half but the Lady Defenders surged to a tie at 37 and took the lead for good at 39-37. Dordt eventually led by double digits at 60-49 and were never seriously challenged late for the 13 point win.
Jill Haan led a balanced Dordt College scoring effort with 14 while Lindsey Van Wyk and Kristin De Ronde had 13 points a piece off the bench. Tara De Boer was good for 10 points while Rachel Van Beek had eight points and ten rebounds.
Concordia was led by Whitney Stichka with 17 while Jessica Domina had 14 points, nine of them in the first half.
The win was Dordt's first against Concordia since the formation of the GPAC in the 2000-2001 season.
