Dordt College Women's Basketball vs. Sioux Falls

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Lady Defenders took a convincing win over the Sioux Falls Cougars in Great Plains Athletic Conference play on Wednesday night 69-53. The Lady Defenders took the lead for good at 15-14 and had a 27-19 halftime lead. Sioux Falls scored the first two points of the second half but the Lady Defenders answered with a four point run to push the lead to double figures and were never seriously challenged on the way to the 16 point margin.
Dordt was paced by Jill Haan's 15 points and nine rebounds while Tara De Boer and Lindsey Van Wyk had 14 and 13 respectively. Rachel Van Beek added ten points and Kristin De Ronde had eight points, eight rebounds, five blocks and one steal. Van Wyke and Van Beek both had six rebounds.
Sioux Falls was led by Morgan Campbell's 14 points and 11 rebounds.
The win was the first for Dordt College in the series since 1999. Dordt is now 4-4 in the GPAC while Sioux Falls falls to 5-2.
