Dordt College Women's Basketball vs. Dakota State

(Madison, South Dakota) The Dordt College Lady Defenders faced there fourth ranked foe in five games and lost a 68-53 decision to the Dakota State Lady T's in non-conference play Monday night at the Dakota State Fieldhouse in Madison, South Dakota.
The Lady T's, who ranked 17th in last week's NAIA national rating took an early 18-9 lead. Dordt trimmed the lead ot 27-20 and had three possessions to cut the lead down even further, but failed, falling behind 35-22 on four straight points. The two teams traded buckets into intermission with the hosts getting a last second lay-up to close the half.
The Lady Defenders used an eight point run in the second half to cut the lead ot 44-36 on Jill Haan putback but the hosts used an eight point run of their own to build a 52-36 lead, a double digit advantage they would never relinquish.
Dordt was led by Lindsey Van Wyk wtih 12 points while Jill Haan had 11 points and 11 rebounds. Shawna Flikkema added seven points and Nicki De Blaey had five points and five assists to go along with two steals.
The Lady T's were paced by Laura Tewes with 19 points and Jessica Van Loy added 10 points and had eight rebounds, eight assists and five steals. Dakota State made 55 percent of their shots in the first half.
