Dordt College Women's Basketball vs. Doane

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Lady Defenders upset the #8 in the nation Doane College Tigers this afternoon in women's GPAC basketball 83-80. The Lady Defenders led most of the second half only to see Doane tie it on a pair of free throws by Josi Gronemeyer 69-69. The Lady Tigers scored the first three points of the overtime but the Lady Defenders responded with a three point play by Shawna Flikkema later in the session to regain control of the game. Flikkema made two free throws to ice the game.

Dordt was topped by Flikkema's 19 points while Jill Haan had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Rachel Van Beek had 12 points and eight rebounds while Katie Bleeker added 11 points, five rebounds, three assists and one steal.

Doane got 18 points from Ashley Howard and Lacie Stewart added 16 points.
