(Orange City, Iowa) The Dordt College Lady Defenders fought off a determined Northwestern (MN) basketball team today in the Taco John's Classic hosted by Northwestern College in Orange City. The Lady Defenders held an eight point lead at halftime but the Eagles scored the first eight points of the second half to tie the game at 35.
The Lady Defenders held a five to eight point lead most of the second half before putting the game away with free throws in the closing moments.
Rachel Van Beek led Dordt with 21 points while Colleen De Groot came off the bench to log 10 points.
