Dordt College Women's Basketball vs. Huron

(Huron, South Dakota) The Dordt College Lady Defenders improved their season record to 3-7 with a win over Si Tanka University at Huron, South Dakota on Wednesday night. The win did not come easily to the Lady Defenders as they held a slim 33-31 halftime edge.

In the second half the hosts built an eight point lead at 51-43 before Dordt went on a 8-0 run to tie the game on a Jill Bouma three point play. The Screaming Eagles threatened to pull away with a six point lead at 61-55 but the Lady Defenders answered the call again, this time taking the lead on a Shawna Flikkema three point shot to take the lead at 64-61 and never trailed again on the way to the non conference win at 81-76.

Flikkema and Bouma led Dordt with 17 and 15 points respectively. Both Lady Defenders came off the bench while Tara De Boer had 12 points in the win, the third game in a row that the sophomore has scored in double digits.

Dordt College will now prepare for a pair of games at Fresno, California, playing Fresno Pacific on Monday, December 29 at 6:00 pm (Central Time) and facing Holy Names at 4:00 pm (Central time)on Tuesday December 30.
