(Madison, SD) The Dordt women's basketball team came up short to drop to 5-7 in the SDIC Conference. Despite leading at the half, the Lady Defenders were outscored 35-28 in the second to lose by an overall score of 69-63. Carla Geleynse led the Lady Defenders with 20 points, while Serena Van Beek and Marlene Van Wingerden added to the offense with 17 and 10 points respectively. Dordt shot well from the line, going 9-11 for 81.8%. Geleynse also shared the team lead in rebounds with Kelli Holwerda, each pulling down six.
