December 21, 1999
(Langley, BC) The Lady Defenders made it a clean sweep of the Pacific Northwest with a 59-52 win at Trinity Western in Langley, British Columbia CANADA today. The Dordt women played under FIFA international rules and had a gutty performance in winning their third game in a row. Carla Geleynse and Kelli Holwerda paced Dordt with 14 points a piece. Serena Van Beek had 10 points, and hit the lone three-pointer of the game. The three point line was at 20"6" inches (9 inches farther out then the states), and today's game was played with a men's basketball (big ball). Those two changes are just a few of the many under FIFA rules. Holwerda pulled in 10 rebounds in the win. Dordt entered the road trip at 3-4, and go home at 6-4 on the season.
