Dordt College Men's Basketball vs. Northwestern

The Dordt College men's basketball team ended their season losing a heartbreaker tonight in Orange City, IA versus the Red Raiders of Northwestern College in first round GPAC Conference Tournament action. Northwestern's Ben Gerleman hit a jump shot with 4.3 seconds left on the clock to give the Raiders the edge, 77-76. A Dordt turnover then led the Defenders to foul with 1.2 seconds remaining. Northwestern then missed the freethrow, while Dordt's Dylan Haak rebounded the ball and hurled a desperation shot that missed at the buzzer. The Defenders were led tonight by Evan Beimers who netted 18 points and ripped down ten rebounds. The Red Raiders' Brandon Jacobson scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Northwestern advances in the GPAC Conference Tournament to face the University of Sioux Falls on Friday, February 23, in Orange City. Game time is set for 7:30.
