Dordt College Men's Basketball vs. Briar Cliff

(Sioux City, IA) Dordt's men lost their final regular season game tonight, 85-81, in Sioux City, Iowa, at Briar Cliff College. The Chargers used an 18-2 run to open the second half, and erase a 42-34 halftime deficit. Damon Hunter netted 23 to lead all scorers, including 15 points in the second half. Hunter was 10-12 from the floor. He also led Briar Cliff in rebounding with seven. Dordt was paced by Evan Beimers and Michael Ribbens 16 points a piece, while Ryan Dooyema took in seven rebounds. Dordt ended the regular season on a three-game losing streak, and Briar Cliff ends with a 10-1 home record at the Newman Flanagan Center. Briar Cliff has one regular season game left at Park College in Kansas City, Missouri, next weekend. The Chargers are ranked 12th in the NAIA, and are the highest ranked independent team in the country, which gives them a good chance at making the NAIA Division II National Tournament for a fourth straight year.
