(Orange City, IA) Dordt lost a hard fought game at Northwestern tonight 77-73. The Defenders outscored the Red Raiders 38-34 in the second half. The Defenders, playing their first full game without Eric Maas (torn ACL/out season), were led by Evan Beimers' 20 points, while Dylan Haak added 19. Last year's Nebraska-Iowa Conference Player-of-the-Year Ben Gerleman led Northwestern with 22, including four three pointers. Dordt is now 3-2, and Northwestern is 5-1. This was the 72nd meeting all-time between Dordt and Northwestern, with the Raiders leading the series 58-14.
