Dordt College Men's Basketball vs. McKendree (IL)

(Northwestern, MN, Tournament) What a start to the season, as the Dordt men upset Mc Kendree of Illinois (#11 NAIA DI) 74-71 in the semi-finals of the Northwestern (MN) Tournament. Eric Maas paced Dordt with 16 points and six rebounds. Matt Laur, the 6'11" 270 pound pre-season All-American candidate, led the Bearcats with 31 points and 16 rebounds. Dordt used a 15-0 second half run, fueled by Dylan Haak's eight straight points, to erase an 11 point deficit from the 10 minute mark to the five minute mark. After Dordt tied it at 69, the Defenders never trailed again. The final was 74-71.
