Dordt College Men's Basketball vs. Dakota Wesleyan

(Mitchell, SD) It's just not easy to WIN at the world's only Mitchell Corn Palace. However, the Dordt men used tough defense, a balanced attack, and late free throws in Mitchell tonight to win their 16th game of the year 63-57. Tonight's win is only the fourth all-time for the Dordt men's basketball program at the world's only. Eric Maas hit on nine of ten free throws in the second half and scored a team high 13 points in the victory. Neal Brenneman added 12 points, and Randy Oostra pulled in seven rebounds. Dordt's last win in Mitchell was in the SDIC playoffs in 1997. The Defenders handed the Tigers their only home loss that season. Dordt and Sioux Falls are still locked at 7-3 and second place in the SDIC. The Defenders improve to 16-7on the season, and won their fourth game in a row. Dakota Wesleyan drops to 12-12, and 5-5 in the league. Huron's men, at 8-1, hold the loop's top spot.
