Dordt College Men's Basketball vs. Grace

(Omaha, Nebraska) The Dordt College Defender menís basketball team earned its third win of the season with a 122-89 win over the Grace Royals in Omaha, Nebraska on Tuesday night, November 5. The Defenders never trailed in taking the non-conference decision.

Dordt was up 28-16 near the mid point of the first half when Kyle Linbergh was sent to the bench with three personal fouls. With their leading scorer on the bench, Dordt was able to outscore Grace 31-24 to lead 59-40 at halftime. The Royals never cut into the lead as Dordt led by as many as 40 in the second half while outscoring the hosts 63-49 in the second half of play.

Dordt took advantage of a 37-52 free throw shooting night and had a 53-39 rebounding advantage. Dordt also converted 40-76 shots while holding the Royals to a 27-70 shooting night from the floor for 39 percent.

Dordt was led by Tyler Wolterstorff with 23 points on 5-10 shooting and 12-15 free throw success. David Den Herder came off the bench to score 16 and he grabbed six rebounds. Nathan Rindels and Austin Katje each had 14 and Dalton Franken tossed in 13. Alex Terpstra also appeared in a reserve role and had 12 points. Lindbergh ended up with 11 rebounds and had nine points with two steals and two blocked shots.

Grace was led in scoring by Hakeem Stewart and Ayotunde Akinbote with17 points each and Treston Mayo had 13.

Dordt will face Davenport (Michigan) and Trinity Christian (Illinois) on Friday and Saturday in Orange City in a pair of games hosted by Northwestern College. Grace is now 0-3.
