Dordt College Men's Basketball vs. AIB-Northwestern Classic

(Orange City, Iowa) Four players in double digits propelled the Dordt Defenders to their sixth win of the season in as many starts for an 87-41 win over AIB (Iowa) on Saturday afternoon at the Northwestern Red Raider/Pizza Ranch Classic.
The Defenders overcame a slow start to take a 43-17 halftime lead. An 18-0 run starting at the 7:59 mark of the game with a pair of Chris Sievers free throws ended with dunk by Trevor Wolterstorff with 1:50 left in the half. By the time the run was over the Defenders were up 41-15.
The second half started with a 10-0 run and Dordt was never challenged in the second half on the way to the 45 point final margin of victory.
Dordt was led by Chris Sievers with 14 points in a reserve role. The senior converted 4-7 field goals and 6-8 free throws. Shawn Keizer and Trevor Wolterstorff each had 13. Keizer made all three three-point shots he took and he was 2-2 on free throws. Both Wolterstorff and Keizer each had five rebounds. Jordan Vogel added 11 points, passing 1,000 career points in the process. Cliff Warner had nine points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals.
Brandon Eley led the Eagles and all scorers with 19 points.
Dordt converted 28-51 shots for 55 percent and they also made 24-33 free throws while maintaining a 39-35 rebounding advantage.
Dordt is 6-0 this season and will be off until Saturday, November 17 when they travel to Crete, Nebraska to face Doane College.
