Dordt College Men's Basketball vs. Dakota Wesleyan

(Mitchell, South Dakota) Dordt College dropped their GPAC opener 84-80 against Dakota Wesleyan in the Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD to fall to 4-4 overall and 0-1 in the GPAC conference.
The Defenders held a 9 point advantage on 3 separate occasions in the first half including a 35-26 lead with 2:36 to go in the first half. A made basketball and 4 free throws by Brady Wiebe cut the lead down to 3 at 35-32 at half-time.
Chase Walder led all scorers with 23 points for Dakota Wesleyan, knocking down 4-6 from the 3 point line and was a perfect 5 for 5 from the charity stripe. Brady Wiebe had 18 for the Tigers and Kris Wilson added 16 and Larry Swann had 10. Brady Wiebe had a game high 10 rebounds for Dakota Wesleyan. With the win the Tigers improve to 6-1 on the season and 1-0 in the GPAC.
Dordt shot 50.8% from the floor while Dakota Wesleyan finished at 49.1%. One of the key differences in the stat line was free throws as the Tigers shot 27 shots from the charity stripe, knocking down 23 while Dordt made only 17 trips scoring on 12. The Defenders ended the night with 15 turnovers and Dakota Wesleyan gave up the ball 9 times.
Dordt College will play host to William Penn on Tuesday, November 23 at 7:00 pm.
