Dordt College Men's Basketball vs. Dakota State

(Madison, South Dakota) The Dordt College Defender men's basketball team fell to 1-3 to start the basketball season with an 89-72 loss on the road to Dakota State on Tuesday night, November 9 in Madison, South Dakota.
Dordt stayed close, tying the game at 28-28 with an Austin Katje basket with 5:45 left in the first half.
The Trojans started to pull away and built their lead to 44-37 at the break. Dordt trimmed the lead to 46-40 on a TJ Malone three-point shot early in the second half but couldn't keep the pace falling behind at double digits at 56-44 with 16:08 left and Dordt never got within striking distance in falling by the 17 point margin.
Dordt made 28-59 shots from the floor but allowed 10-24 three-pointers by Dakota State and 21-25 free throws. Dordt held a 41-29 rebounding edge but gave the ball up 27 times to 13 times for Dakota State.
Trevor Wolterstorff had 16 poitns and seven rebounds while Kyle Lindbergh came off the bench for 11 points and seven rebounds. Jordan Vogel added 10 points and eight rebounds.
Santino Clay had 20 points for the hosts who are now 3-2.
Dordt falls to 1-3 and will face Johnson and Wales (Colorado) on Friday night in Orange City at 6:00 at a classic hosted by Northwestern.
