Dordt College Men's Basketball vs. Jamestown (ND)

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Defender men's basketball lost a 77-63 decision to Jamestown (North Dakota) on Saturday, November 6 in non-conference basketball in Sioux Center, Iowa.

Dordt led briefly in the first half taking a 12-10 lead on a three-point basket by Bradly Van Staalduinen but the Jimmies eventually pulled out to a 12 point lead with 3:41 left in the half and took a 41-33 lead at the break.

Dordt mounted one serious threat in the second half, getting to within four at the 15:56 mark on a pair of free throws by Austin Katje but the Jimmies had an answer with nine points in a row to make it 58-45 with 12:55 remaining. Dordt hung around but never got the lead under 10.

Jamestown converted 9-19 three-point shots while Dordt struggled to knock the outside shot down going 1-13. Dordt did hold a 39-31 rebounding advantage but turned the ball over 17 times to miscues by Jamestown.

Trevor Wolterstorff had 16 points on 5-10 shooting and Chris Sievers was 6-6 for 13 points and grabbed six rebounds. Jordan Vogel added nine points and nine rebounds and Bobby Sherwood and Van Staalduinen each had seven.

Jamestown, winners of two in a row and holders of a 2-1 record, were led by CJ Peeters with 18 points and Chris Lawrence had 15.

Dordt is 1-2 and will face its fourth Dakota Athletic Conference team in a row when they travel to Madison to face Dakota State on Tuesday, November 9.
