Dordt College Men's Basketball vs. Grace (Indiana)

(Omaha, Nebraska) The Dordt College Defender men's basketball team had no trouble with a 97-61 win over the Grace Royals in Omaha, Nebraska Tuesday night. The Defenders scored the first six points of the game and surged to a 31-11 lead with 13 points in a row. Dordt was up 54-24 at halftime and were never seriously challenged in taking the 36 point win.
Dordt made 6-7 three-pointers in the first half in building their lead. Dordt was led in scoring by Eric Van Maanen's 19 points while Russ Griese and Scott Van Zanten both had 11 and Michael Eekhoff 10. Chad Huenink came off the bench for eight points and ten rebounds and Brian Eekhoff had eight points as well as the Defenders made 41-67 shots from the floor and 11-16 on three pointers. Scott Van Zanten helped Dordt to a 43-22 rebounding edge with six rebounds and Michael Eekhoff had four assists.
Grace was topped by Ed Kaiser's 15 points and five rebounds and Tim Ondrak added 11 points.
Dordt is 3-2 and will host Graceland on Saturday, November 17 at 4:00 in their next action while Grace falls to 0-3.
