Dordt College Men's Basketball vs. Jamestown

(Jamestown, North Dakota) The Dordt College Defender men's basketball team battled back from a late 11-point deficit to tie their game with Jamestown (North Dakota) on Friday night but came up short as the Jimmies got a three-pointer with less than two seconds left to score an 86-83 win.
Dordt led 43-37 at halftime in the game played at the Jamestown Civic Center when Michael Eekhoff made a desperation shot from beyond half court as the buzzer sounded.
The eighth ranked Jimmies took the lead for good at 46-45 and pushed the lead up to 11 on two different occasions the las time at 71-60. Dordt proceeded to cut into the lead and tied the game with :35 left on an Eric Van Maanen three-point shot.
Jamestown proceeded to run the clock down and got an open three-point shot by Kellen Bubach that went in with :01.8 remaining and the Defenders got a desperation shot off after a timeout that was short.
Dordt was led by Eric Van Maanen and Logan Kingma with 20 points each. Kingma converted 8-9 shots from the floor and snagged five rebounds with two assists and two blocked shots. Michael Eekhoff was good for 13 points and gave out six assists with one steal. Chad Huenink came off the bench for eight points and seven rebounds with two assists.
Jamestown was led by Ryan Thompson had 18 points and Jake Holen put in 15 and Kyle Iverson ended with 13. Jordan Olson scored 12 and Jerald Richardson was 4-4 off the bench for ten points.
Dordt was 33-59 from the floor and 8-18 on three pointers while Jamestown was 29-62 from the floor and 10-18 on three pointers. The Defenders converted just 3-8 free throws in the second half while making 9-16 free shots overall.
Dordt is 0-1 and will face Valley City State on Saturday at 6:00 while the Jimmies host Northwestern.
