Dordt College Men's Basketball vs. Lindenwood (Missouri)-NAIA National Tournament

(Point Lookout, Missouri) The Dordt College men's basketball season came to an end late Wednesday night at the NAIA Division II men's basketball tournament with a 66-58 loss to Lindenwood (Missouri) in the first round of the tournament.

Dordt scored the first five points of the game, but surrendered the next seven and never led again.

The Lions held a five point lead at halftime 30-25 but Dordt scored a three-point play on their first possession of the second half to cut it to 30-28. The Lions threatened to pull away in the second half, leading 44-33 near the midpoint of the second half but the Defenders wouldn't go away. Dordt trimmed the lead to 49-46 eventually and actually cut the lead to 54-52 but couldn't complete the comeback.

Dordt was led by Luke Ruter in his final Dordt College game with 25 points on 7-15 shooting from the floor. Brandon Haan had seven points and 11 rebounds and Brian Eekhoff came off the bench to score seven and snare four rebounds. Lindenwood was paced by Johnny Viehland and Justin Shrake with 23 and 13 points respectively.
