Dordt College Men's Basketball vs. Dakota Wesleyan

(Mitchell, South Dakota) The Dakota Wesleyan Tigers turned away the 17th rated Dordt College Defender basketball team by a 98-82 score at the Corn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota Wednesday night in Great Plains Athletic Conference play.
The Defenders trailed early and got down by as many as eight in the first half, 22-14.
Dordt led once, 32-30 with 6:16 remaining in the first half but Dakota Wesleyan closed the half on a 4-0 run to lead 46-38.
Dordt got to within four early in the second half, 46-42 but the Tigers, riding the shooting of Brock Seim, pulled away to a double-digit lead at 60-50 and Dordt got no closer then six the rest of the game.
Luke Ruter had a career high 30 points for Dordt as the Defenders made 31-56 shots from the floor for 55 percent. BJ Haan had 17 points before fouling out and Scott Van Zanten added eight points and four rebounds in 37 minutes of work.
Ruter's 30 points was overshadowed by Brock Seim's 41 for the Tigers. The junior converted 11-20 shots from the floor and 14-16 free throws. The Tigers made 28-32 free throw attempts while Dordt made 16-20 free attempts.
