Dordt College Men's Basketball vs. Sioux Falls

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Sioux Falls Cougars turned away the Dordt Defenders in a match-up of top 20 rated teams at the De Witt Gym in Sioux Center.

The Defenders, rated fifth in NAIA Division II basketball, were outscored by the 19th rated Cougars 47-32 in the second half on the way to the 81-64 win.

The Defenders trailed 34-32 at halftime and score the first two points of the second half to tie it up but the Cougars went on a nine-point run and the Defenders would get no closer than seven the rest of the way in falling to 6-2 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference while Sioux Falls improves to 7-0.

Dordt was led by Brandon Haan's 15 points and four rebounds while Scott Van Zanten had 12 points and six rebounds. Derek Keizer put in 13 points with five assists and two steals.

Sioux Falls was paced by Dylan Kvaale's 17 points and Ryan Millsap's 16. The Cougars shot a blistering 9-13 on three pointers and 31-48 from the floor for 69 and 65 percent respectively.
