(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Defender men beat Hastings 66-58 in a hard-fought Great Plains Athletic Conference game at the De Witt Gym in Sioux Center.
Hastings took a 19-8 lead early in the first half but the Defenders fought back to within 32-29 at halftime. The Defenders took the lead at 37-36 but Hastings kept coming back, leading 54-52 on a three point shots by Krae Dutoit. The Defenders then re-took the lead and never gave it up, winning by an eventual 66-58 count.
Dordt was led by Luke Ruter's 16 points and eight rebounds while Brandon Haan had 13 points and 10 rebounds along with four assists. Scott Van Zanten also hit for 13 points.
Krae Dutoit led all scorers with 22 points.
