Dordt College Men's Basketball vs. Northwestern

(Orange City, Iowa) The Dordt College Defenders fought back from a 38-27 first half deficit to post a tight 74-72 win over the Northwestern Red Raiders. The Defenders scored the first six points of the second half to lead 42-39 before Northwestern came charging back to eventually tie it at 57. The two Sioux County rivals exchanged leads with the score being tied again at 70-70. After a Luke Ruter basket in transition the Raiders answered with a Cody Kuipers basket to tie it at 72-72 with less than a minute remaining. Brandon Haan then hit a baseline layup to give Dordt the lead and the Defenders withstood a flurry of shots by Northwestern at the end to win 74-72.

Dordt got 16 points each from Ruter and Haan while Jim Brinks added 10 off the bench. Kuipers paced Northwestern with 24.
