Dordt College Men's Basketball vs. Morningside

(Sioux City, Iowa) The Dordt College Defender basketball team lost a 100-96 double overtime decision at Allee Gym in Sioux City to the Morningside Mustangs.

The Defenders scored the first seven points of the second half to tie the game at 44-44 and neither team led by more than six the rest of the way.

Dordt had a chance to win it at the end of regulation but were unable to get a Dan Hospers shot from 15 feet was just short and left the score tied at 77-77.

Dordt survived a shot by Morningside at the end of the first overtime but the Mustangs scored the first four points of the second overtime to go up 91-87 and the Defenders got to within one point once the rest of the way in dropping the conference game.

Dordt had five players in double digits in scoring with Brandon Haan (22), Kyle Van Arendonk (21), Bret Van Wyk (18), Dan Hospers (13) and Luke Ruter (12) all reaching twin figures.
