Dordt College Men's Basketball vs. Midland (NE)

January 17, 2004

(Fremont, Nebraska) The Dordt Defenders saw their five game winning streak come to an end tonight with a 81-75 loss to Midland Lutheran. Dordt held a 37-33 lead at the break but saw that lead slip away in the second half. The Defenders pulled to within two points at 77-75 after Brent Van Maanen converted the old-fashioned three-point play with under 15 seconds left to play in the game, but it wasn't enough as Midland converted free throws down the stretch to pull out the win.

Brandon Haan had 22 points tonight to lead the Defender attack. Bret Van Wyk had 18 points and Kyle Van Arendonk chipped in 13. Midland's Jacob Lentfer had 20 points to lead four Warriors in double digits tonight.
