Dordt College Men's Basketball vs. Northwestern-GPAC Semifinals

(Orange City, Iowa) The Dordt Defenders knocked the Northwestern Red Raiders out of the Great Plains Athletic Conference post season tournament with a 92-84 win over the Raiders in Orange City. Northwestern led 47-40 early in the second half before Dordt scored eight points in a row to end retake the lead. From there it was a back and forth game with Dordt taking advantage of free throw advantage to win the contest. Dordt was led by Eric Maas and Evan Beimers with 23 and 21 points respectively. Beimers made 13-15 free throws. Shawn De Stigter had 13 points and six assists while Bret Van Wyk came off the bench for 12. Luke Ruter added 10 and Kyle Van Arendonk nine. Maas led all player with 11 rebounds. The balanced Dordt effort offset Brandon Woudstra's 37 point, ten rebound performance for Northwestern. The win snapped Northwestern's 25 game winning streak.
