Dordt College Men's Basketball vs. Briar Cliff University

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt men took it down to the wire tonight before getting a 71-70 victory over Briar Cliff tonight. Eric Maas made two free throws with 43 seconds left in the game to tie the score at 69-69. At the other end, Baltimore Haynes-Talbot was fouled with 3.7 seconds left, but only made the first of two free throws. Maas was again fouled on the rebound and made both of his ensuing free throws to put the Defenders up 71-70. The Chargers put up a last-second half-court shot, but it rimmed out, giving Dordt the win. Kyle Van Arendonk had 18 points to lead the Defenders, while Maas and Evan Beimers each put up 14. Josh Winston had 23 points for the Chargers tonight.
