(Sioux City, Iowa) The Dordt Defenders dropped their GPAC conference opener tonight, losing to Briar Cliff by a score of 66-69. Dordt led briefly 63-62 but Briar Cliff had an answer for every Dordt run and put the game away with free throws by Josh Winston at the end. Evan Beimers had a game-high 24 points and 6 rebounds for the Defenders, and Kyle Van Arendonk chipped in 11 points.
