Dordt College Men's Basketball vs. Buena Vista University

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt Defenders fought back from a 16 point deficit in the second half to take a three point lead near the end of regulation. Eric Wiebers hit back to back three pointers to give Buena Vista the lead with under a minute left but Eric Maas converted a conventional three point play to tie the score at 66. Buena Vista turned the ball over with under :06 left in the game and Dan Hospers was fouled as the buzzer sounded giving him two free throws. Hospers was unable to convert and the game went to overtime. Wiebers continued to have the hot hand for BV as he converted on seven points while the Defenders got five points from Evan Beimers in the extra session. Beimers led all scorers with 27 points, 23 of them coming after intermission.
